With over 2 year experience shearing and trained under the renowned alpaca shearing expert, Matt Best, Matt Moore is available for shearing your alpacas and llamas. Being part of raising alpacas in the family, Matt takes the extra care and time needed to ensure the safety and least amount of stress on your animals. Matt requests the following:
When booking, give an accurate count of animals you wish to be sheared. It is very important to the scheduling. PLEASE do not book for 10 and then expect 20 to be done as most likely he will have another ranch booked that same day. Matt reserves the right to refuse to shear any animals he feels unhealthy or unsafe to shear.
If you wish a ''show blanket'' please provide the sheet, paper or plastic you would like to have it packaged in. Show blankets are professionally removed in one piece with no second cuts.
Orginization is the key. Each farm should have the following for a smooth day:
Marker to mark each bag with animals name and quality of fleece
Plenty of white or clear garbage bags
Extra electrical cords
At least 3 halters and lead lines
Contained and dry animals a must
Helpers are still needed to bring the alpaca in a timely manner to the shearing area as well as gather the fleece as it is removed from the animal. Please plan to provide enough help to make the day go smoothly.
The pro-tie method is used for safely securing your animals. Mats are also used. Toenails as well as front teeth trimmed upon your request.
Overnight accomodations are greatly appreciated.
Llamas can be shorn as well.
Prices are as follows:
$50.00 Set Up Fee per farm
$25.00 per animal if shearing 35 or more animals per farm
$30.00 per animal if shearing under 35 animals per farm
